Connect Home Assistant

Entity states plus the service catalog — the one connector that acts. An agent you have granted home can read the house and dispatch the services you would use yourself; admin and system domains are denylisted from both catalog and dispatch.

a running HA on your LAN · about five minutes · long-lived token

1

Create a long-lived token

Home Assistant → your profile → Long-lived access tokens → create. Name it "Postern" and copy it — HA shows it once.

2

Paste into the Console — with the LAN address

Console → Sources → Home Assistant → your instance URL + the token → Connect.

Use your Home Assistant machine's LAN IP. A .local (mDNS) address won't resolve from inside Postern's container.

WHAT STANDS WHEN YOU FINISH

The home sector, reading and acting. Any home-granted agent sees entity states, browses the service catalog, and dispatches the services you would use yourself — lights, scenes, switches — with every dispatch recorded in the ledger. What it can never do, by construction, is touch an admin or system service.
